Offer Description
The Departments of Mathematics of the Faculty of Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Information Technologies (FAMNIT) of the University of Primorska, and Andrej Marusic Institute (IAM) of the University of Primorska, are seeking a top early-career researcher for a postdoctoral position in the area of Galois geometry and group actions, in connection with the research grant of Prof. dr. Michel Lavrauw, "High-Dimensional Actions of Classical Groups in Galois Geometry", funded by the Slovenian Research and Innovation Agency.
The employment relationship will be concluded full-time 40 hours per week (100%), for a fixed period of 12 months. The start of work is in accordance with the agreement. The start of work is in accordance with the agreement.

Skills/Qualifications
- Applicants must possess (or expect to obtain shortly) a PhD in Mathematics or a related area, and show evidence of excellence in algebra, finite geometry, or algebraic geometry,
- Relevant expertise in projective geometry, group theory, algebraic geometry over finite fields, or computational algebra (e.g. GAP) is desirable,

Benefits
- The postdoctoral researcher will have access to funding for travel, conferences, and visitors,
- The compensation is set according to the academic title by Slovenian law governing higher education and is expected to be about 1800 - 1900 EUR / month after tax.
Selection process
Applications will be assessed on a rolling basis until the position is filled, beginning September 2025. The starting date is flexible, but preferably no later than October 2026.
