Offer Description
We are seeking to recruit a research assistant to support the development of the project Human Systems Ecology: reframing complex social and urban systems, within the CoSIN3 research group at the Research Unit for Digital Transformation, AI and Technology at the UOC.
The Complex Systems group at IN3 (CoSIN3) focuses its research on uncovering the underlying mechanisms in networked complex systems. A key area of study is the development of methodologies and algorithms for network analysis and their potential applications, in which the group has already built a strong track record.
Responsibilities
- Developing a Bayesian framework to identify nested, modular and in-block nested structural patterns in complex networks.
- Theoretical and analytical formalisation of this framework, requiring advanced mathematical knowledge.
- Applying the developed methodologies to real-world complex systems.
- Writing, editing and publishing scientific articles related to the above.
The successful candidate will be awarded a temporary full-time contract lasting 6 months. The scheduled start date is 19 September.
For work on site, the principal location will be the UOC Campus, at Rambla del Poblenou 154-156, Barcelona. At the UOC, we work with an open working model that combines remote working with work on-site, according to organizational needs and the nature of the tasks involved.
